Main Street

Over the years I've watched this town change, but I've also come to appreciate the character that has always been here. This new collage piece is inspired by a downtown Medford street scene and the memories that places like this can hold.

I started with a photograph and then built layers of color, texture, and imagery around it. I wasn't trying to recreate the street exactly as it was. Instead, I wanted to capture the feeling of looking back at a place you've known for many years and seeing it in a different way.

I think every town has stories hidden in its buildings and streets. Sometimes it takes slowing down and really looking to notice them.

Creating this piece reminded me that the places we see every day often become more meaningful with time.
