What These Walls Still Hold

I took this photograph while standing in front of a quiet, aging house that seemed to be holding more than its shape. I felt a gentle sorrow for it—not dramatic, just human. When I returned to the image in the studio, I worked in layers, letting the surface build slowly, the way time does. I didn’t want to explain the house or resolve its story. I wanted to honor its presence. What these walls still hold is left unresolved, waiting for the viewer to feel their own way in.
